The Circulator Boot™
is a cardio-synchronous compression therapy system for
treating arterial insufficiency in the legs and feet.
It is the primary method used by leading clinics for
healing chronic ulcers and reducing pain caused by vascular
disease.
Amputation
has been commonly used in the past, but is now out-of-favour
because of increased disability and poor outcomes.
The Circulator
Boot works by producing increased blood circulation
to the extremities.
It is effective
for ischemic foot ulcers, rest pain, claudication, threatened
gangrene, insufficient blood supply to an amputation
site, neuropathy, nocturnal leg cramps, arterial emboli,
necrobiosis diabeticorum, and chronic lymph edema. It
is contra indicated for patients at risk for pulmonary
emboli. The system controller unit includes an
ECG monitor that detects the patient's heart beat
to control the compression timing.
