Easy to Use

The DGM-1500 is a small, light and easy-to-carry meter which automatically measures both the radiation dose rate and the cumulative dose. By carrying it in a pocket or briefcase, it is unobtrusive while monitoring radiation levels. A minimal number of clear, unambiguous push buttons and a large digital display make the meter easy to use even under the most difficult conditions. The meter comes with a comprehensive manual giving detailed instructions for performing each type of radiation measurement.

Reliable

The DGM-1500 has been approved by the Finnish Ministry of the Interior for civil defence use, and meets the requirements laid down by the Finnish Center for Radiation and Nuclear Safety (STUK) in document STUK-B69 “Radiation meters for use in radiation monitoring, civil defence applications and private radiation safety applications”. These requirements are based on the international standard
IEC 846.

Versatile

The DGM-1500 incorporates a versatile range of technical features. In addition to the basic automatic functions, the meter has a fast measurement mode which can be used for rapid location of radiation sources, and a precision measurement mode which can be used to monitor gamma radiation levels over one-hour intervals in foodstuffs or background gamma levels, for example. Background gamma levels measured by the DGM-1500 in precision mode, are suitable for determining gamma compensation in E-PERM radon measurements. Alarm levels for the dose rate and cumulative dose are user-programmable. The meter comes with a line power connector, so it can be used for round-the-clock monitoring of ambient radiation. The versatility and wide range (0.01…100 000 microSv/h) of the DGM-1500 make it ideal for industrial, training and teaching applications as well as for use by government authorities. Ease of operation also makes it suitable for use as a personal radiation meter.
