GyneStimTM
Trophic Pelvic Floor Stimulator

gynestim

The GyneStimTM Trophic Pelvic Floor Stimulator is an advanced development in a small, lightweight neuromuscular electrical stimulator (E-stim) for clinic and home use.The programs mimic the natural nerve-muscle communication associated with bladder control. With its simple push-button controls, the GyneStim is especially easy to use at home.  You can regain control of your bladder to prevent leakage and avoid frequent dashes to the toilet.

Unlike other dedicated electrical stimulators, this functional electrical stimulator (FES) incorporates five programs, including automatic sequential mode.  This enables the therapist, continence adviser or physician to more effectively treat and target specific symptoms. Stimulation is comfortable and effective.

The GyneStim exercises the pelvic floor muscles for the purpose of normalizing nerve and muscle function.  This improves muscle tone, leading to the cure of stress, urge and mixed incontinence. In the automatic sequential program, the pelvic floor muscles are activated through a series of different levels of metabolic activity.

Conditions of stress and urge incontinence often coexist with bladder instability, overactive bladder (OAB) syndrome, sexual dysfunction and pelvic pain to varying degrees.  There are many advantages from using a trophic pelvic floor stimulator. GyneStim produces multiple reflex effects, including restoring urinary control and treating overactive detrusor muscles. Trophic means “nourishing”. GyneStim has a positive effect on the pelvic floor muscles.  When used once or twice daily, in sessions of 30 to 60 minutes, improvements in urethral closure come as a progression towards complete bladder control.

  • Functional electrical stimulation is recommended by obstetricians and gynaecologists in Canada* for the treatment of overactive bladder syndrome. It is also beneficial for treating stress leakage, light bladder leakage and mild prolapse.

  • *Clinical Practice Guideline No.186. December, 2006 by the urogynacolgy Committee of Society of Obstretions and Gynaecologists of Canada (SOGC)

  • Gynestim is listed by Health Canada as a Class II medical device. Licence 97072
