The
ETS
90 is a new advanced development in
neuromuscular electrical stimulation. The programs mimic the natural
nerve muscle communication associated with continence control. Unlike
other dedicated electrical stimulators the ETS
90 incorporates both automatic sequential
and manual single frequency selection modes; this enables the therapist,
continence adviser or doctor to more effectively treat and target specific
symptoms.
Conditions
of stress and urge incontinence often co-exist with bladder instability
and pelvic pain to varying degrees. The advantages of using electrical
stimulation for mixed incontinence is that treatment includes multiple
reflex effects, restoring urinary control and inhibition of an overactive
detrusor with concomitant improvement in urethral closure. Unlike
other dedicated electrical stimulators the ETS
90 incorporates
both automatic sequential and manual single frequency selection modes;
this enables the therapist, continence adviser or doctor to more effectively
treat and target specific symptoms.
In AUTOMATIC
PROGRAM MODE, the muscle is activated through
a series of different levels of metabolic activity, from aerobics to voluntary
assisted maximum contractions, ending the cycle with a cooling off phase.
In MANUAL
MODE, the therapist may select the frequency level
according to the muscle response and performance levels as rehabilitation
proceeds.
